Time to REST

July 4, 2022 1 Comment

Sam Apeh is the community wellbeing Hub Manager at Norfolk and Waveney Mind. As the mental health charity opens its latest hub, REST Aylsham, he explains how they are providing a service different to anything they have done before

A community wellbeing hub, providing free walk-in, mental health support and signposting services, opens today in Aylsham, Norfolk. It is the latest ‘REST’ hub to be opened by Mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind. REST stands for Recover, Eat, Support, and Talk, reflecting the different ways we can be more connected in our community – and the hub brings together mental health support, local services and a place where everyone can feel welcome.

Sam Apeh, Hub Manager at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, says: ‘REST Aylsham joins our growing provision of community hubs across Norfolk and is another great example of how we are providing mental health services differently to anything we have done before.

‘Our ambition is to ensure no one has to face poor mental health alone. To deliver on this, we will continue to invest in mental health services which are people centred and break down access barriers so more people can get help and support closer to home.’

REST Aylsham joins the charity’s growing portfolio of community hubs, following the recent opening of REST Norwich and REST Thetford. The charity plans to open similar hubs in North Walsham, Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn in the coming months.

REST Aylsham can be found at: 1 Red Lion Street, NR11 6LW. The Hub will provide a service from 11am-5.30pm, seven days per week. REST Thetford can be found at: Breckland House, St Nicholas St, IP24 1BT and REST Norwich can be found at: Churchman House, 71 Bethel Street, NR2 1NR. REST Norwich and REST Aylsham are collaborative community hubs commissioned by Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group and delivered by Norfolk and Waveney Mind and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust; and REST Thetford is delivered and funded by Norfolk and Waveney Mind. For further information about Norfolk and Waveney Mind services including REST Aylsham, please visit Norfolk and Waveney Mind or call 0300 330 5488.
