My name is Emma and I grew up on the Suffolk coast before training to be a newspaper journalist, with the National Council for the Training of Journalists, nearly 25 years ago. I’ve been based in Norfolk since 2000, becoming an award-winning regional journalist along the way – winning a Hair Journalism award two years running (both ceremonies were very bad hair days, if I remember rightly…).
I decided to go freelance in 2012, and since then I have written for regional newspapers and magazines as well as digital publications.
Folk Features is my ‘lockdown’ start-up, and I post a positive story about the good folk of Norfolk and Suffolk, Monday to Friday. On this website you will find eco-friendly folk and feelgood folk, as well as inspirational stories of your year. And, new for 2023, is the Press Pause section, where you find monthly features about that hot topic: the menopause.
Folk Features is an ad-free ‘positive news’ website, and I am seeking key partners to help support me, joining Plain Speaking PR, Jader Ltd, integrative counsellor and hypnotherapist Sam Grainger, Louise Thomas Skin Care and artist Grace Adam in the process. Oh, and please do feel free to SUBSCRIBE and DONATE – it all helps me to run Folk Features as a media website without the ads.
If YOU are a small business owner and are interested in becoming a key partner, please contact Folk Features.
