I grew up on the Suffolk coast before training to be a newspaper journalist, with the National Council for the Training of Journalists, nearly 25 years ago. I’ve been based in Norfolk since 2000, becoming an award-winning regional journalist along the way (winning a Wella Hair Journalism award two years on the trot). I went freelance in 2012, writing for regional newspapers, magazines and digital publications. Folk Features is my ‘lockdown’ start-up, and my aim is to post an uplifting story for the good folk of Norfolk and Suffolk more or less every day. On this website you will find ‘eco-friendly folk’ and ‘feel-good folk’, as well as inspirational stories under the umbrella of ‘your year’, a ‘good gift’ guide and a new section called ‘on a positive note’, where people are sharing their hopes and dreams for 2021. Please feel free to subscribe. If you’re are able to make a monthly donation, equivalent to the cost of a monthly magazine, for example, it will help me to run Folk Features as an ad-free good news website.
