Suffolk-based Future Female Society is celebrating 10 years of impact ahead of International Women’s Day. Here, CEO Kim Trotter explains how the community is uniting to help shape the next decade of support for women and girls
Future Female Society marked its 10-year anniversary with a celebration evening last night (February 24, 2026) at King Street Cinema in Ipswich, bringing together partners, supporters, and collaborators from across the county. The event celebrated a decade of achievements, sharing stories of impact and growth from the women and girls that have attended Future Female Society’s workshops, events and programmes. Guests were encouraged to reflect on the next ten years and continue to pledge their support ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day, which falls on Sunday 8th March.
Since its official launch in 2016, FFS has supported over 2,400 women and girls, delivering 41 grassroots projects and working with people from 25 countries. The Community Interest Company provides safe, inclusive spaces to access support, build skills, and overcome challenges such as isolation, low confidence, abuse, and limited opportunities.
Guests heard from Founder and CEO Kim Trotter, who reflected on the organisation’s journey and made a heartfelt call for support: “Reaching this milestone is a hugely proud moment for Future Female Society and everyone who has supported us over the last ten years. Together, we have delivered life changing support to thousands of women and girls across Suffolk.
“However, we can’t continue this vital work without additional funding and support from the people around us. Demand for our services is growing, and with the backing of our community, we can strengthen and expand our programmes to reach the women and girls that need us most.
“By collaborating with local businesses, organisations, and individuals, we can grow our impact and create even more opportunities to thrive here in Suffolk. We’d love to hear from people who are ready to make a real difference alongside us.”
FFS runs three core programmes; Girls, Where You At?, Woman 2 Woman Radio, and More Than Mum, offering weekly sessions that help build skills, confidence and community connections across Suffolk. These programmes are complemented by a series of wellbeing workshops and community outreach events that are held throughout the year.
Hayley from Ipswich attended More Than Mum, a self-development programme specifically aimed at mothers, supporting their next steps into education, training, employment or volunteering. She said: “When I joined More Than Mum I had lost all hope for the future. Now, after participating in the programme, I feel like I’ve been given a golden ticket. I finally have the confidence and tools to move forward and make the changes I’ve always wanted in my life, and I am determined to make the most of this opportunity.”
Future Female Society is hosting an event at The Hold on Fore Street in Ipswich, from 10am-3pm on Saturday 7th March, ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day. The event will feature a vibrant programme of inspiring speakers, interactive workshops, stalls, live performances, and a free lunch for all attendees.
