‘Putt and Plaits’ event – Castle Quarter, Norwich

Dads and male carers are being invited to spend quality time with their children at a special event at Castle Quarter the day after Father’s Day, combining a game of mini golf with learning practical hairstyling tips.

Indoor mini golf attraction, Putt Putt Social, is joining forces with Castle Quarter’s hair salon Supercuts Norwich, to host ‘Putt and Plaits’ on Monday 22 June, from 5pm to 7pm – an evening where parents, carers and their children can spend time together and bond over learning a shared skill – hair braiding.

During the event, Supercuts’ stylists will offer hands-on training for the adults, sharing simple techniques for how to plait and braid children’s hair of all lengths and styles. The session is designed to give Dads and carers new skills and the confidence to try some practical hairstyling techniques. It means next time their child is getting ready for school, a party, sports tournament or dance show, they will have the plaiting know-how to create a fantastic-looking hairstyle.

The event reflects a growing national movement encouraging Dads and male carers to become more involved in everyday hairstyling routines.

Pints and Plaits events have been popping up in pubs for Dads only, and with hair plaiting specialists the Braid Maidens now hired as the official braiders for the women’s Red Roses England rugby team, the trend for intricate, creative plaits has really taken off.

This Norwich event is for Dads, male carers and their children to attend together. After learning how to braid, attendees will also enjoy a free round of mini golf, take home a complimentary goodie bag and enjoy a non-alcoholic drink each.

Guests will also be entered into a competition to win a free cut and colour with a specialist from Supercuts Norwich, as well as a money-off voucher to use in-store.
