Pikachu Art Adventure – Ickworth Estate, Suffolk

October 1 - November 8

Following a summer of adventures, the National Trust has teamed up with The Pokémon Company International to create an exclusive Pikachu Art Adventure, inviting families to discover art, creativity and nature.

Featuring 30 different extra-large Pikachu trading cards, the outdoor trails celebrate 30 years of Pokémon and showcase artwork by the original designer of Pikachu, Atsuko Nishida, as well as crochet-inspired and highly detailed contemporary illustrations.

Taking place across Ickworth Estate, the art adventure also invites families to take a closer look at the places around them, spotting details in everything from architecture and collections to gardens and landscapes.

Giant magnifying glasses and an interactive gallery sheet will encourage families to look more closely at the Pikachu cards, uncovering hidden features, comparing artistic styles and learning more about both Pikachu and the artists behind the cards.

Additional activities include a drawing station where families can design, draw and colour their own Pikachu-themed card, inspired by the illustrations featured on the trail. At the end of their adventure, families can collect an exclusive commemorative stamp as a memento of their visit.

The Pikachu Art Adventure is taking place at Ickworth Estate from Thursday 1 October to Sunday 8 November, 10am – 4pm*. There’s no need to book, the trail is included within standard admission and free for National Trust members.

*Due to a fire alarm upgrade, the Rotunda and West Wing will be closed Monday 5 – Friday 9 October. During this time 10 of the 30 cards will not be available to view.
