National Garden Scheme – Norfolk

Two glorious, privately owned gardens opening for the National Garden Scheme this month promise an abundance of colour and inspiration, whilst raising vital funds for nursing and healthcare charities throughout the UK.
HOLME HALE HALL, Swaffham, IP25 7ED. Sun 6 September 12-4. As seen on BBC Gardeners World recently, this “hidden Gem in Norfolk” is one of the most renowned gardens opening for NGS each year and its popularity saw huge numbers visit earlier in the season. This garden continues to charm and evolve, benefitting from more than thirty years of collaboration between distinguished garden designer Arne Maynard and the owners. Oozing with creativity and a pure love of gardening, it is simply impossible not to be feel inspired here. Adm £8, chd free. Wheelchair access. Dogs welcome. HIGH HOUSE GARDENS, Shipdham IP25 7PU. Sun 13 September 12-5. This 3 acre plantsman’s garden has been developed and maintained by the owners for the last 40 years. With diligent curation, its rose, shrub and colour themed herbaceous borders with an extensive range of perennials delight and inspire visitors as do the woodland area, orchard and small arboretum. Morphing with the seasons, this garden never fails to to uplift its visitors, whether they are discovering its magic for the first time or returning once again. Adm £6, chd free. Wheelchair access.
