Nadine Weeks, a qualified personal trainer, nutritionist and menopause wellness practitioner, has just launched Fitter Body Ladies gym in Norwich. Here she explains how the aim is to empower women over 30
When did you get involved with Fitter Body Ladies and what is it about the concept that you love?
It came off the back of my own weight loss journey of losing six stone after yo-yo dieting for years and going to many fad slimming clubs. The Fitter Body Ladies concept aligns with my values of training ladies over 30, to help women feel empowered in a safe space and help to educate on the signs and symptoms of peri/menopause.
What were you doing before (or what do you do alongside)?
Before I came into fitness at the age of 38, I was a successful award-winning florist. I am currently studying to be a life coach to help empower women further – I never stop learning!
Describe some of the ‘crazy stuff’, fitness-wise, you have done in the past?
Since the weight loss I have completed the wolf run which is quite a tough mud race! I have skydived, bungee jumped and climbed mount Snowdon! Ben Nevis is next year.
For those not in the know, how does the 28-day transformation programme work and who is it aimed at?
Our 28-day programme is aimed at women over 30 of all fitness levels, to help kick start their weight loss journey! Typically, women lose between 8-14 lbs within the 28 days. The programme includes three workouts a week taken by me – I also help with nutrition and your mindset. Fitter Body Ladies have a 3f approach which consists of Fitness-Food-Focus. You need all these three elements to help you towards your goal. On signing, we take your measurements, and we even have an app where you can keep track of your weight loss.
What can you tell us about the new Norwich location?
My Fitter Body Ladies studio is based in Bowthorpe on the industrial estate just past the bowling alley. The studio is a good size, with no mirrors and plenty of parking!

In what ways will it empower women over 30 and what are the main benefits of it being a ladies’ only gym?
Being a ladies’ only gym it gives women the confidence to work out in a comfortable space with no judgement and a friendly, fun atmosphere, there will be no boring, mundane classes. Also, with likeminded women, we will grow a friendly community where we can have socials, coffee mornings etc. I am also wanting to put some menopause chats on for members.
What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
My dreams for the future of Fitter Body Ladies are to have two more gyms in outlying areas to help more women who feel stuck with their fitness get the help and support to achieve those goals.
