What’s the background to Folks Coffee Co – and what is the ethos behind the company?
We founded Folks Coffee Co. in Norfolk in 2022 with a simple aim: to create welcoming, creative spaces where good coffee and good conversation go hand in hand. Born from a love of hospitality and connection, we set out to champion local producers and build community-focused spots across the county. At the heart of what we do are three core values: Quality, Creativity, and Connection — guiding everything from the way we brew coffee to the way we build our spaces and partnerships.
What makes your coffee so special?
It starts with the beans — always thoughtfully sourced and expertly roasted for character and balance. But for us, great coffee is about more than just the cup; it’s about the moment. The care we put into each pour, the space you’re in, the people around you — that’s what makes it special. Whether it’s your first sip of the day or a mid-afternoon reset, we believe coffee should feel like a small ritual.
Where can people find Folks Coffee, and where is the new location?
We currently have three locations open in Norfolk:
- Blakeney (Westgate Street) – a relaxed, coastal spot open Monday to Sunday, serving coffee and bakes daily.
- Heydon (The Bakery) – tucked into one of Norfolk’s most beautiful villages, open Thursday to Sunday for breakfast, bakes, weekend treats and not forgetting, Pizza on the Green on Friday evenings!
- The newest addition is Folks in Holt — a fresh space which opened last Friday.
What will you be serving up during the day/evening? Do you source locally as much as possible?
By day, you’ll find our signature offering: carefully brewed coffee, fresh pastries, deli-style sandwiches, and much more.
In the evenings at Folks in Holt, the space will shift into something slower and more social — with cheese and charcuterie boards paired with a well-curated selection of drinks. Think relaxed grazing and good conversation. Sourcing is key for us — we work with local and regional producers wherever possible, from milk and bakes to cheese, charcuterie, wine, and bread. Our menu is simple, thoughtful, and grounded in quality.
There will also be space for a pop-up?
Yes! At Folks in Holt, we’re introducing a rotating pop-up space — giving local makers and creative independents room to take over and share their work. It’s part of our vision to make each location a community platform, not just a coffee shop.

Where (or what) is next for Folks Coffee Co?
With Folks in Holt open as of last Friday, and more creative projects on the horizon, we’re focused on growing thoughtfully — keeping things local, collaborative, and rooted in community. For us, the next chapter is about making space for connection, creativity, and (always) good coffee.
