Independent Suffolk charity, St Elizabeth Hospice officially unveiled its new Moments Coffee Shop at Ipswich Town Hall today. Find out what the first customers thought of it all

The latest hospice Moments Coffee Shop was opened today (Friday March 24) by St Elizabeth Hospice Chief Executive Office, Judi Newman. The Moments Coffee Shop at Ipswich Town Hall follows the success of the hospice’s Moments Coffee Shops in Stowmarket and at Heath Road, Ipswich. And like the other venues, Moments Coffee Shop at Ipswich Town Hall will serve familiar coffee shop favourites, including jacket potatoes, toasties, cakes and a range of hot beverages.

Retail Area Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, Andrea Wedgwood, says: ‘It is fantastic to bring our Moments Coffee Shop brand to central Ipswich alongside Ipswich Borough Council, and we thank them for their support.

‘St Elizabeth Hospice’s work is at the heart of the community throughout East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney. Opening a third Moments Coffee Shop means we can engage further with the community who give us amazing support every year, while also raising vital funds for our services which care for patients and their families during difficult times in their lives.’

With all funds raised going towards St Elizabeth Hospice, which every year delivers free care to over 3,000 people and their families in East Suffolk through to Great Yarmouth and Waveney living with a progressive or life-limiting illness.

The first customers at Moments Coffee Shop, Ipswich Town Hall, were Gerald and Veronica Jobson. Gerald says: ‘We heard about Moments opening at the Town Hall in the paper, so we were keen to come down. We really like the surroundings and being in the town centre, it is an ideal place to come while shopping.

‘The food, drink and service has been lovely. We will certainly be coming back very soon. It so lovely to be able to support a local charity, like St Elizabeth Hospice, while enjoying a cup of coffee.’

This is excellent news. An iconic venue, great place to hang out whilst supporting a very worthy cause.
