A vegan takeover

July 18, 2022 Leave a Comment

Laura is the founder of Fork Off It’s Vegan, an event catering business launched in lockdown. Here she explains why she is joining forces with two live music promoters – and is about to put vegan food firmly on the menu – at The Globe Inn, Lowestoft

We survived and helped our local communities survive the lockdowns by delivering finish-at-home belly busters and delicious, sweet treats to your doors. I have done some really exciting events, including London Pride where I got to spend the whole day with some really beautiful people and take place in the march, too.

I started to look for a bigger kitchen space to hire as Gloria (the beautiful vintage caravan that up until now has been our only kitchen) was starting to become too small for our needs, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Ben and Ben from Culture Vulture Live. They were already reopening The Globe as a live music venue and wanted to do something with food but weren’t sure what so were really happy to meet me and let me take over that aspect of the business. We will be working as two businesses collaboratively in The Globe: Culture Vulture Live and Fork Off at The Globe.

Laura of Fork Off It’s Vegan and Ben & Ben of Culture Vulture Promotions are about to take over The Globe Inn, Lowestoft

Absolutely all the food will be vegan, but not definitely traditional, pub grub, except perhaps our now infamous Yorkshire Wrapper on Sundays for the Sunday Social from 2-4pm. There will be a varied menu and some old favourites as well as new and exciting things to try out.

There are lots of exciting plans coming from both the music and the kitchen. It’s definitely worth keeping your eye on our socials for opening dates, events, menus etc.

You can find Gloria, Fork Off It’s Vegan‘s vintage caravan, at The Big Green Weekender, in Lowestoft, on September 24

As for events, who said anything about them stopping! Gloria is still available for hire, and she is booked for several more events this year. We will be at Lowestoft Town Council’s “The Big Green Weekender” on September 24, we hope to see you there.
