Double Deck The Halls – The Earlham Bus Incident – Alex Bussey Scout Centre, Norwich
Norwich-based sketch comedy group The Earlham Bus Incident are marking three years with a Christmas-themed show on Sunday 7 December.
A mix of actors, stand-ups, theatre and film makers spanning all ages, the group originally formed to take part in Norwich Queerfest.
Over the years, the group have written and performed sketches including:
-
Shakespeare’s Fast and Furious – featuring Elizabethan megastar Vin Dieselus
-
A guest appearance from CBBC’s Raven, battling a new foe: office admin
-
And launching the career of 1950s noir detective, Mona Ravona.
Christmas promises more silliness, with warring Santas, revolution at the North Pole and guards who hold the key to all your wildest dreams – if only they could work out how to write a riddle.
The show will feature musical guest Joe Durant and rising star of the comedy scene, Naif Mohamed, who will host the show.
Earlham Bus Incident shows are deeply inspired by the US hit sketch show Saturday Night Live. With a UK version in production, sketch fans are hoping new audiences will discover the format. “We’d love to get an invite to join the UK SNL team” says co-founder Tom Scudamore, “and if a Sunday night show in a Scout Hut in Norwich doesn’t put us on the map, what will?”
Expect parodies, chaos and at least one broken heart.
