Norwich-Brielle Voices concert – St Peter Mancroft Church

Norwich-Brielle Voices present a programme of works dating from the Renaissance to the Baroque era. Behind the glorious music lies the turbulent, and often intertwined, religious history of the two countries from the 15th to the 17th centuries – which brought the Strangers from the Low Countries to Norwich.

The choir results from friendships formed through a mutual love of polyphony. Its first outing was last year in Brielle, in the Netherlands; now the Dutch singers join us in Norwich. Then, the main emphasis was on Byrd, to mark the 400th anniversary of his death, and through the late Renaissance period to Baroque and the Bach family. This year’s programme also includes music by other great composers of the era – including Tallis, Monteverdi, Morley (a Norwich man) and Victoria. Please come if you can to welcome our Dutch visitors.
