Suffolk Walking Festival

Suffolk’s treasured annual event returns, as the longest-running walking festival brings over 55 walk events to the county this spring.

The Suffolk Walking Festival which kicks off on Saturday 11 May, takes place over two weeks and boasts a plethora of walks to suit all ages and backgrounds.

Now in its 16^th year, the festival is one of the largest and longest running walking festivals in the country. The 2024 festival brings many new walks to try but also sees the return of some all-time favourites such as Orford Ness on the Suffolk coast, revealing its fascinating secrets, mindfulness moments in an ancient woodland and relaxed river trips before gentle ambles.

New for 2024 are ventures into the Broads National Park; practicing the ancient Japanese art of Haiku poetry; and a gentle guided walk at Snape with the Ambling African Women, a newly established walking group based in Ipswich, amongst many others.
