Life’s A Beach event – Castle Quarter, Norwich

A little slice of the seaside is coming to Castle Quarter this August, as a new ‘Life’s A Beach’ seaside-themed zone arrives in the heart of Norwich.

The centre’s month-long seaside-inspired experience will feature a six metre by six metre sand zone for play and exploration, deckchairs to relax on, a creativity station for colouring and crafts, and a whole host of free competitions with lots of chances to win summertime- themed prizes.

It’s all the fun of the seaside without needing to leave Norwich this summer and best of all,
it’s completely free to enjoy.

Running daily throughout August, from 10am to 4pm, the special ‘Life’s A Beach’ event will combine seaside-themed activities, prizes and, of course, sand!

The area known as White Lion Square, just outside Boots on the lower ground mall, will be filled with deck chairs, colourful beach hut displays and palm trees to create a summertime setting. While the sand zone will have buckets and spades, for everyone to enjoy.

And of course, it doesn’t matter whether the weather decides to rain or shine, as there will be plenty to discover indoors, under the shade and shelter of Castle Quarter.

Running alongside ‘Life’s A Beach’, other free things to do in the centre this August include:

• Hunt for buried treasure: Every day in August, treasure will be hidden in the sand zone. Go digging and you might just find a prize!
• Take on the Seaside Explorer Trail: Go for a stroll around the centre to take the Seaside Explorer Trail. Look out for hidden sea creatures dotted throughout Castle Quarter and find them all to enter a free prize draw, giving you the chance to win a £100 voucher.
• Beach-themed colouring activities: Running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August, take a mindful moment at the free colouring-in and crafts station. Find it on level one, near the YMCA store. Perfect for keeping young explorers entertained and offering a mini break for the grown-ups.
• A special summer prize draw: Before you depart the beach zone, scan the QR code to enter Castle Quarter’s free ‘Life’s A Beach’ prize draw for another chance to win a £100 voucher.
• Strike a pose!: Snap a fun photo for the summertime album – pose in the oversized deckchair or show off a sandcastle creation, then post your best picture on social media with #CQLifesABeach and tag Castle Quarter to enter another free prize draw to be in with the chance of winning a £50 Castle Quarter voucher.
