Uplifting stories for Norfolk and Suffolk
Things are about to get tasty in North Lynn thanks to free food sessions being organised by the Lily team at the borough council.
Food for Thought are free family-friendly sessions aimed at helping residents learn new cooking skills, swap recipe ideas, and discover ways to eat healthy and nutritional food while also saving money.
Lily, a service that is owned and managed by the borough council, is organising 12 weeks of interactive sessions. The Beacon Café at North Lynn Methodist Church on Losinga Road, PE30 2DH, is to host the weekly drop-in meetings between 9:30am and 11:30 every Tuesday from 30 April 2024.
Each week there will be tips about how to cook healthy and tasty food without breaking the bank. The themes to be focused on are listed below, booking is not required:
Week 1 (30/4): Breakfast
Week 2 (7/5): Lunch
Week 3 (14/5): Dinner
Week 4 (21/5): Snacks
Week 5 (28/5): Half term family fun
Week 6 (4/6): Dried and tinned foods
Week 7 (11/6): Batch cooking
Week 8 (18/6): Dietary alternatives
Week 9 (25/6): Low calorie desserts
Week 10 (2/7): Fakeaway meals
Week 11 (9/7): Low calorie cooking
Week 12 (16/7): Seasonal savings
