Family Festival – Norwich Theatre

Norwich Theatre’s much anticipated Family Festival is returning this July with lots of free and low-cost activities and plenty of fun for families.

Spanning across Norwich Theatre Royal and Norwich Theatre Stage Two from 23 – 25 July, there will be interactive workshops, drop-in sessions, SEND activities and shows for all types of families.

Bring all the family along to the free Kindness Installation Drop-In (23 Jul) and create your own mini-clay sculpture for an art installation or follow along at home with the Crafting Kindness at Home Digital Resource! If you need some down time when visiting, pop along to our free Sensory Story Space Drop-In (23-25 Jul) for a quite area with books and a sensory toolkit to help unwind.

Get into the rhythm of summer with the free Drumming Circle (23 Jul) and Sin Cru Street Dance Pop-Up Performances (23 Jul). Channel some of your own moves in the Street Dance Workshop (23 Jul) and show off your skills!

Head along to the Imagination Walk (23 Jul) and immerse yourself in a world of stories, or craft your own tale in the Family Poetry Workshop (23 Jul). If you love to get creative with the family, drop by Painting with Pride with the Norwich Dandies (24 Jul) to help design flags and banners, or build your own magical character or mini-me in Puppet Making (24 Jul).

If you have a budding actor, make sure to join the Drama Workshop (24 Jul) that will be filled with theatre and improvisation games! Or journey through imagination with Sensory Stories for SEND (24 Jul), an ideal relaxed environment for disabled and neurodiverse young people.

Help the environment grow with The Paper Allotment Drop-In (25 Jul) and assist the Creative Gardeners sculpt plants from recycled materials. Afterwards, gather all generations of the family for Family Singing (25 Jul) or have another joyful joint experience watching the little one’s favourite TV character come to life in Bluey’s Big Play (23-25 Jul). Parents can unwind in Creating Kindness with Norfolk and Waveney Mind: Nurturing Parents (25 Jul), for a stress-reducing session encouraging mindfulness and self-compassion.
