Uplifting stories for Norfolk and Suffolk
The Food Museum’s popular beer festival in partnership with CAMRA returns for another celebration of all things brewing, with the 27th Festival of Beer and Brewing from Thursday 4th – Sunday 7th July 2024.
Visitors can enjoy a range of delicious real ales, craft beers and ciders in the picturesque surroundings of the museum, including the stunning medieval barn where the main bar will be located and peaceful glade.
The line-up features a wide array of flavourful beers sourced from East Anglian breweries including Humber Doucey, Bruha and Woodfordes who are sponsoring the festival, alongside Stowmarket Plumbase.
Alongside local brewers, the festival will highlight Cumbrian breweries as part of their regional showcase, including Ennerdale Brewery, Fell Brewery and Tractor Shed. This ties in with the museum’s new annual exhibition Forty Farms, which presents captivating photography of Cumbrian farms by British Life Photographer of the Year, and farmer Amy Bateman.
Visitors can enjoy food and entertainment with their drinks every day from the 4th -7th. From 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, enjoy live music with your evening pint – with folk, country and rock all on the bill. The museum’s own Feast Café will be providing a delicious range of homemade food, including dirty fries, chilli con carne and an array of cakes. There’ll also be brilliant local food trucks, including Bay Tree Pizza and Prestige offering pizza and gourmet burgers.
On Sunday 7th July, the Festival is joining up with Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival to offer free entry and an even larger range of tasty treats. There’ll be a food producer market on the lawns of Abbot’s Hall, alongside a Kitchen Theatre with a full days programme of live free cooking performances and even Stowmarket’s own mini-beach! A special cocktail bar in the Hall’s conservatory will provide an oasis of calm, whilst at the outdoor oven visitors can take part in bread making and baking activities perfect for families.
Tickets are £4 per day, or £10 for a Festival Pass. Entry is free on Sunday as part of Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival. Tickets are available on the door.
