Uplifting stories for Norfolk and Suffolk
Plan a trip into Norwich city centre this August and if you stop by Castle Quarter you could bump into all creatures great and small.
The city’s leading social, leisure and lifestyle destination will be giving visitors the rare chance to make some new furry four-legged friends at its animal encounter days.
The Unicorn Alpacas will be back for their summer visits on Friday 2nd and Friday 30th August. On both days, find them outside in the Castle Gardens where you can walk the animals and handle other creatures too.
Unicorn Alpaca Walks, based in Shipmeadow near Beccles, will also be bringing along some rare breed and exotic animals from their rescue centre. Their animal sanctuary, Happily Ever After, offers a loving, caring home to exotic animals and rare breeds, who need looking after. There will be a small charge to walk the alpacas, with all proceeds going to the care of the rescue animals.
Also in August, more magical animals will be trotting down to Castle Quarter, when the much-loved Miniature Donkeys for Wellbeing will be making a special guest appearance on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th August, 10am until 2pm.
Meet them outside the Castle Meadow entrance and learn more about how these gentle, friendly miniature donkeys spark joy and enhance people’s wellbeing, with their visits to local community groups, voluntary organisations, dementia groups or special needs settings.
A Dinky Donk pop-up stand will also be raising money for the social enterprise, which is based in south Norfolk, with plenty of mini-donk themed merchandise to buy.
