The Nelson’s Journey Walk of Smiles – Little Plumstead, Norfolk

The Nelson’s Journey Walk of Smiles returns on Saturday, 15th June with families invited to take part in an event which brings people together in their acts of remembrance.
The event, principally for families of children who have been supported by the charity, is also open to the public and will be held at Octagon Park in Little Plumstead, home to Nelson’s Journey.
Activities will include the beautiful countryside walk with routes of 2 and 2.5 miles (the shorter route being buggy friendly), and back at Octagon Park there’ll be refreshments, BBQ, games, arts & crafts, and activities for all ages.
The event is “dog friendly” and visitors are encouraged to bring “well behaved” 4-legged friends (on leads), who can also take part in the fun dog show to showcase their best tricks or most shiny coat.
Members of Nelson’s Journey’s service team will also be on-hand to help out visitors’ furry friends with their own Teddy Bear TLC stand, where children will be able to bring their teddies & cuddly toys along for a bit of a pampering; perhaps a brush-down, a freshen up, or maybe just to share their teddy troubles with our team therapeutic spa support workers. It can be surprisingly good for their stuffing.

Tickets for the event can be purchased on the day, or online in advance at a reduced rate, with all proceeds going to the charity. Participants are also encouraged to seek sponsorship for their walk to support the work Nelson’s Journey does.
