Loneliness Awareness Week – Lily, King’s Lynn

June 8 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

From Monday 10 June 2024 people and organisations join together to raise awareness of loneliness during Loneliness Awareness Week. Lily in west Norfolk is planning a place to go for support.

Lily, which is managed by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, helps people who are feeling lonely or isolated by supporting them to connect to organisations that can help in the area.

On Saturday 8 June the Lily team will be based in The Place, New Conduit Street, in King’s Lynn town centre to offer support and advice alongside other local organisations from 10am until 2.30pm.

Lily also has a local online directory containing around 3,000 listings. The Directory aims to help local people find local activities, events and services www.asklily.org

Follow the Lily Facebook and Twitter feeds, @LilyWestNorfolk, throughout the week for support with combating loneliness.

Lily helps people who are feeling lonely or isolated by supporting them to connect to organisations that can help in the area.

The service offers 1-to-1 support to adults (18+) whose loneliness is the primary issue affecting their health & wellbeing.  Clients are supported to:

  • Access social activities, volunteering opportunities, community services and assets
  • Identify and overcome barriers that prevent them becoming connected
  • Reconnect with family & friends and make new connections in their community.
