Jarrolds Retail has raised more than £11,000 to support its chosen charity, Norfolk & Waveney Mind. Here, charities manager Caroline Jarrold explains more

Over the past 18 months, Jarrolds has raised £11,257 to support its chosen charity Norfolk & Waveney Mind. The charity was chosen by colleagues in recognition of the tremendous work which it does to support people with all levels of mental health problems across the Norfolk and Waveney areas. Funds were raised through colleague events such as bingo and quiz and chips events, special sales of perfumes and beauty bags, as well as contributions from the sale of Jarrolds Gin and relating to the Jarrolds customer loyalty scheme, collecting tins around the store and carol singing in the Norwich store before Christmas. A few brave men also grew moustaches in November and raised over £1000 in sponsorship.

Caroline Jarrold, charities manager at Jarrolds, said: “We are delighted to have raised over £11,000 to support Norfolk & Waveney Mind through colleague and customer contributions. It has been very moving to understand more about Mind’s work in our community and the important support which they make available across the area, where the need has become ever more intense following the Covid pandemic and ongoing pressures on everyday life.”

Emma Robinson Hodges, director of strategy and charity development at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Jarrolds and their fantastic team for the energy, commitment and generosity they’ve shown as one of our valued corporate partners. Their fundraising efforts and ongoing support for our events have played a vital role in helping us deliver essential mental health services across Norfolk and Waveney.

“As a local Mind, we’re responsible for raising our own funds, so every donation and every partnership truly matters. Having the support of such a well-respected and iconic local brand makes a real difference, and we can’t thank the team at Jarrolds enough for being part of our journey.”
