Discover what the festive period meant to the Anglo-Saxons living 1,500 years ago, and find out where many of today’s traditions came from as we celebrate Yule at Sutton Hoo. See the feasting table in the high hall, share your own traditions on the Yule tree and pick up a free family trail.
Tranmer House, the former home of Edith Pretty, will be dressed for Christmas with a magical line-up of trees decorated by local schools and community groups from 6 December.
The estate walks and adventure playground will also be open daily (except 25 and 26 December) for visitors to enjoy a winter walk and Keeper’s Kiosk, located beside Tranmer House, will be serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, light bites and snacks every week day from 10am until 3pm.
