Uplifting stories for Norfolk and Suffolk
The Seasons Speak is an exhibition and soundscape of nature inspired poems and naturally dyed colours.
The hand-stitched and woven textiles are inspired by a seasonal cycle of poems written by Dorothy Amery, who has now sadly died. The poems and accompanying hangings celebrate Dorothy’s life and her deep love of nature. The textiles will be hung in Grapes Hill Community Garden, with cord hand-twined from day lily leaves. Many of the textiles have been hand-dyed using natural plant materials from Waterloo Park.
From 5pm we will gather around a fire to listen to and read poems. We are lucky to have Patrick Widdess who will bring some of his poetry and is inviting us to bring our own poetry to read around the fire. Snacks and hot drinks will be available. Think pop corn, chai and hot chocolate.
