Uplifting stories for Norfolk and Suffolk
A fire and police station in Ipswich is to open its doors to the public this weekend.
The family open day takes place at Princes Street station and will raise money for the Firefighters Charity, which supports firefighters and their families in times of need, and the Be Lucky Anti-Crime Foundation.
The Be Lucky Anti-Crime Foundation, set up by Paul Stansby and Jamie Hart of Lucky 13 tattoo studio in Ipswich, works to instal bleed kits at public locations which can be used to treat people in the event of incidents such as a stabbing.
The open day at Princes Street is on Sunday September 15 from 11am-3pm and money raised on the day will be used to purchase bleed kits for distribution in the Ipswich area, as well as to go to the Firefighters Charity.
It will feature a range of fun activities such as a search and rescue challenge, using firehoses, photos in police and fire vehicles, face painting and a raffle.
The Foundation was set up in memory of Mr Stansby’s brother, who was fatally stabbed near Ipswich railway station in 2017.
Since the tragedy Mr Stansby and the charity have raised funds to instal more than 40 bleed kits at locations around Ipswich and Felixstowe.
