These magical dance films transport you to beautiful places, whilst highlighting the grace and individuality of every performer – from a 9-year-old boy leaping through sand dunes, a little girl dancing in a forgotten garden, to a cast of over 70 intergenerational performers gliding through a cathedral of trees.
The selection on display has been developed in collaboration with a diverse range of artists. Several have been commissioned by the BBC and many have been presented worldwide.
Described as “One of the most gifted, level-headed and articulate artists in the UK”, (Animated), Rosemary is widely recognised for her work with performers of all ages and for creating choreography that animates unusual and unexpected spaces.
Visitors are invited to experience Rosemary’s films and installations throughout the exhibition’s opening hours from 1 – 8 October, 11am – 3pm (closed on Sunday 5 October).
In addition, a special presentation, taking place on 1 October from 7pm – 8.30pm, will offer audiences the opportunity to hear directly from Rosemary herself – presenting a selection of her films, sharing insights into their creation and reflecting on the influence of Lowestoft and its surrounding landscapes on her work and engage in conversation with the audience. Tickets are £6 and available to book at
Moving Worlds — First Light Festival CIC.
Rosemary says: “It is particularly special for me to bring Moving Worlds to Lowestoft. I believe growing up in the East Anglian coastal landscape influenced me as an artist, not to mention dancing at Sparrows Nest. I will be sharing some of those influences, revealing my creative process and answering questions when I present my films on Wednesday evening. I am looking forward to meeting people there.”
